Job summary

Boyd Company seeks a Student Technician Apprentice to develop technical skills through classroom and on-the-job training. Trainees rotate after 4 weeks in the Louisville Training Center to host locations, with 8 weeks of unpaid classroom instruction and 4 weeks paid internship, progressing toward Apprentice Technician roles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be able to pass drug screen and background check
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
• Good working knowledge of computers, spreadsheets and word processing
• Must be dependable and arrive on time

Responsibilities

• Learn to read and interpret technical instructions and manuals
• Assist with mechanical tasks under supervision using proper tooling
• Support shop operations and safety programs
• Review and submit reports in a timely manner
