Job summary

Quarles & Brady LLP seeks a talented lateral associate with 4–7 years of experience to join our Technology Licensing, Data Privacy and Security team. The position is open to any of our office locations under a hybrid work arrangement.

You will advise clients on data privacy laws, draft technology agreements, manage privacy programs, and support incident response and AI governance initiatives across industries.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• 4–7 years of substantive experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, technology transactions, or information governance.
• Experience drafting and negotiating technology-related agreements.
• Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple client matters independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on data privacy laws and cybersecurity requirements.
• Counsel on data asset management and privacy program development.
• Draft and negotiate SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, licensing, and related technology agreements.
• Review data protection addenda and privacy provisions in corporate transactions.
• Advise on IP ownership, licensing, and governance for various industries.
• Lead incident response efforts including breach notification and regulatory reporting.
• Advise on AI governance and responsible deployment risks.
• Conduct privacy impact assessments, data mapping, and risk analyses.
• Monitor regulatory trends and assist with inquiries and enforcement actions.
• Collaborate across practice areas to deliver integrated solutions and contribute to client alerts and webinars.
