Job summary

Quarles & Brady LLP in Madison, WI, seeks a skilled lateral associate with 4–7 years of experience to join our Technology Licensing, Data Privacy and Security team under a hybrid work arrangement.

The successful candidate will counsel on data privacy, cybersecurity, and AI governance, draft and negotiate a wide range of technology agreements, and collaborate across practice groups on complex transactions and regulatory matters.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• 4–7 years of substantive data privacy or technology law experience.
• Experience drafting and negotiating technology agreements and privacy programs.
• Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on data privacy and cybersecurity compliance and AI governance.
• Draft and negotiate technology and data processing agreements.
• Lead privacy impact assessments and data mapping.
• Support incident response, including breach notification and regulatory reporting.
• Provide guidance on IP ownership, licensing, and data protection provisions.
• Collaborate across practice areas to deliver integrated solutions.
