Quarles & Brady LLP is seeking a talented lateral associate with 4–7 years of experience to join our Technology Licensing, Data Privacy and Security team. The position is open to any of our office locations under a hybrid work arrangement.

The candidate will advise on data privacy, cybersecurity laws, and AI governance frameworks, draft and negotiate technology agreements, and participate in incident response and data protection matters across industries.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of substantive experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, technology transactions, or information governance
• Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating technology-related agreements and advising on privacy compliance programs
• Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple client matters and work both independently and collaboratively

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on data privacy, cybersecurity laws and AI governance frameworks
• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of technology and commercial agreements
• Draft and review data protection agreements and data processing addenda
• Lead or support incident response efforts including breach notification and regulatory reporting
• Advise on IP ownership, protection, and licensing strategies
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise on obligations and enforcement trends
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver integrated solutions
• Contribute to client-facing thought leadership and webinars
