Job summary

Quarles & Brady LLP is seeking a talented lateral associate with 4–7 years of experience to join our Technology Licensing, Data Privacy and Security team. The position is open to any of our office locations under a hybrid work arrangement.

The role involves advising clients on data privacy, cybersecurity, and AI governance, drafting technology agreements, and guiding privacy programs. Collaboration across practices is encouraged, with a focus on high-stakes transactions and regulatory matters.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• 4–7 years of substantive experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, technology transactions, or information governance.
• Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating technology-related agreements and advising on privacy compliance programs.
• Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple client matters independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on data privacy and cybersecurity laws and emerging AI governance frameworks.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of technology and commercial agreements (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, licensing, IT services).
• Draft and review data protection agreements and data processing addenda.
• Lead incident response and regulatory reporting efforts as needed.
• Collaborate with other practice areas to deliver integrated solutions.
