Job summary

Chime is seeking a hands-on Tech Lead Manager to guide the Human Agent Tooling team in Trust & Safety. You will lead 3–5 engineers, set hiring bar, coach, and own delivery, while writing production code alongside your team.

You’ll modernize the agent workspace and back-end services, collaborate with Product, Operations, and support to improve member protection and experience. Expect on-call rotations and a strong focus on scalable architecture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience in production systems.
• Experience leading a team and driving architectural decisions.
• Proficiency with Ruby on Rails.
• Experience with transactional databases and caching.
• Deep understanding of scalable web architectures.
• Strong mentoring and code quality focus.
• Interest in fast-paced, early-stage environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive architectural decisions and mentor engineers.
• Lead multiple projects and balance ownership with team support.
• Build robust, low-latency APIs and backend services.
• Own domain architecture and refine platform decisions.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and product managers.
