Job summary

Chime is seeking an engineering leader to guide a Trust & Safety squad. You will manage 4-5 engineers, coach performance, and own delivery end-to-end while coding with the team. You will drive technical direction, adopt AI-assisted tools, and partner with Product and Design to align on priorities.

You will help build sustainable systems, maintain code quality, and mentor engineers toward senior IC or TLM roles within a collaborative, growth-focused culture.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in people management responsibilities.
• Current hands-on coding ability and desire to keep it.
• Track record using AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery.
• Experience coaching team members on execution, skill development, and progression.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with Product, Design, and Analytics.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a squad of 4-5 engineers: Hiring, 1:1s, career coaching, performance management.
• Own end-to-end delivery for the squad, including sprint planning, SLAs, and health.
• Write and ship code alongside the team, reviewing PRs landed in production.
• Set technical direction, architecture, and quality bar for the squad.
• Leverage AI tools to raise team leverage and establish durable practices.
• Collaborate with Product and Design on scope and prioritization.
• Coordinate cross-functional dependencies and act as the squad's technical advocate.
• Identify tech debt and advocate for sustainable engineering.
• Ensure quality, performance, and incident response readiness.
• Create growth paths toward higher IC levels or future TLM roles.
• Contribute to broader Trust & Safety engineering initiatives.
