Job summary

Transdev in Knoxville, TN seeks a Lead Technician to supervise and coordinate a busy technician team, ensuring timely diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of vehicles and equipment. You will lead by example, mentor juniors, and drive safety and efficiency on every job.

The ideal candidate has strong technical background, at least 4–5 years as a technician, and proven leadership. This role requires travel outside the immediate area and a commitment to service excellence.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience as a technician, with demonstrated proficiency in diagnosing and repairing engines and related systems.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and prioritize the workload of the technician team, assigning tasks and ensuring that all work is completed in a timely manner.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles and equipment.
  • Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels to support maintenance and repair activities while minimizing waste and excess inventory.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a variety of engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components, adhering to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • Coach and monitor members of the work team.
  • Other duties as required.

Technician in Charge / Lead Technician

Transdev in Knoxville, TN is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Technician to join our team. The Lead Technician will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of our technician team, ensuring the timely and efficient diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional service.

Transdev is proud to offer:
  • Competitive compensation package of minimum $30.25/hr – maximum $37.75/hr
  • Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks
  • Sick days: 5 days
  • Holidays: 12 days; 8 standard and 4 floating

Physical Requirements:
