Job summary

South Western Communications in Louisville, KY, is seeking a Technician 1 for on-site installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electronic communication systems. You will work with VOIP, SIP, and networking technology, providing responsive service and customer guidance.

The role requires a two-year electronics background and the ability to read wiring diagrams, with on-call duties regularly. A full benefits package including 401k is offered alongside growth opportunities.

Qualifications

Two-year electronics degree or equivalent combination of education and 1+ years related field experience required.
Experience with VOIP, telephony, data networks, wireless data, fire alarm, CCTV, sound systems, or nurse call applications preferred; Cisco and Microsoft certifications desirable.
Ability to install a project from engineering documents with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Install, troubleshoot and maintain electronic communication systems to ensure minimum downtime and maximum performance.
Respond to service-related issues promptly and document readings.
Train customers on proper use of equipment and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.
Maintain accurate time sheets, service tickets and inventory records.
Communicate system performance to customers and prepare progress reports.
