Job summary

The NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) is seeking a Community Associate to join the Division of Tenant & Owner Resources. The role focuses on intake screening, eligibility determinations, rent calculations, and coordinating with clients and landlords to facilitate vouchers and housing assistance.

Team Leaders will supervise case management activities, conduct trainings, and ensure compliance with federal HUD rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Three years of experience in community work or related activities.
• Experience with rental subsidy programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Screen initial applications and determine eligibility.
• Prepare contracts, briefs, and rent calculations.
• Maintain case files and ensure documentation meets HUD rules.
• Train staff and coordinate with landlords and clients.
• Support team on evaluations and performance reviews.
