Job summary

The City of New York’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development is seeking a Community Coordinator to support the Division of Tenant and Owner Resources. You will coordinate programs, collect and verify client information, and liaise with landlords, tenants and relevant agencies.

The position is grant funded for two years, requires NYC residency, and expects adherence to HUD rules and local policies. Evening and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities; or
• High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities; or
• Education/experience equivalent to 1 or 2, with at least one year of experience as in 1 above.

Responsibilities

• Manage own workload independently.
• Train, manage and ensure staff comply with federal and local guidelines.
• Communicate accurate information to landlords, tenants and the public.
• Supervise staff, approve timesheets and conduct performance reviews.
• Respond to inquiries and work with senior management on operations.
