Job summary

Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) is seeking adjunct faculty for PK-12 Literacy. Classes may be in-person, remote synchronous evenings, or 100% online via the learning management system.

Adjunct faculty will prepare and deliver instruction, monitor progress, and collaborate with support staff, with availability varying by semester and campus. Minimum requirements include a Master’s degree in education-related field, five years of PK-12 teaching experience (three as a reading

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in education-related field is required.
  • Five years of PK-12 teaching experience with at least three years as a reading specialist.
  • Expert knowledge of literacy assessments, interventions and instruction is required.
  • Working knowledge of the Science of Reading is preferred.
  • Proficient with learning management systems (LMS).
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

  • Teach classes at CCBC as an adjunct faculty in PK-12 Literacy.
  • Prepare and deliver instruction and monitor student progress.
  • Cooperate with college support staff and participate in trainings and meetings.

Adjunct Teacher Education faculty are needed to teach classes at the Community College of Baltimore County in pk-12 Literacy. Classes may include in-person during the day, remote synchronouslyin the evening, and 100% online through CCBC’s learning managementsystem.

Adjunct faculty are expected to prepare and deliver instruction, monitor student progress, cooperate with college support staff, and participate in required trainings and meetings. Adjunct Faculty areselected based on the needs of the program, applicant proficiency, course availability, and student enrollment.

Locations: Essex, Dundalk, & Essex

Level 1 - $1,050 per credit hour

Minimum Requirements
  • Master’s degree in education-related field required. M.Ed.Reading Education or Reading Specialist preferred.
  • Five (5) years of teaching experience in pk-12 setting with atleast three (3) as a reading specialist required. College teachingexperience preferred. Mentoring and/or coaching experiencepreferred.
  • Expert knowledge of literacy assessments, interventions andinstruction required. Working knowledge of the Science of Readingpreferred.
  • Proficient working with learning management systems.
  • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft applicationsknowledge.

Adjunct Faculty, PartTime Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save forretirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees maycontribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b)post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combinedfor the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
