Job description

This position is part of the Turtle Mountain Elem School, Bureau of Indian Education. As a Teacher (Special Education), you will serve as a Special Education Teacher in a BIE school on or near the Reservation. The instruction areas will typically include special education subjects in an elementary setting.

Qualifications:

To qualify, you must meet the education and licensure requirements outlined in the approved job category for P.L. 95-561 below.

Basic Education Requirement for Pay Level 11-17:

• Possess a Bachelor's Degree (or higher) from an accredited institution.
• All professional educators must meet the certification standards for the position in the State where the position is located. Emergency and provisional certificates may be accepted if issued by the State certification authority.

Pay Level Requirements:

Qualification for a pay level depends on the degree and graduate coursework completed:

• Level 11: Bachelor's Degree
• Level 12: Bachelor's Degree + 15 graduate semester hours
• Level 13: Bachelor's Degree + 30 graduate semester hours
• Level 14: Master's Degree
• Level 15: Master's Degree + 15 graduate semester hours
• Level 16: Master's Degree + 30 graduate semester hours
• Level 17: Doctorate
