Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be registered with the State of practice Family Care Safety Registry within 15 days of hire.
  • 1 year child care experience preferred.
  • Experience working with children in an early childhood setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and carry through age-appropriate curriculum using Project Construct Indicators and Developmentally Appropriate Practice and Accreditation Standards.
  • Understand each child's individual needs as well as the group and assist each child in becoming an integral member of the group.
  • Provide opportunities for children to construct knowledge through exploration and play experiences.
  • Coordinate staff/child interaction and activities to support a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Supervise and manage the assigned classroom in alignment with Mercy Mission, Values and Service Standards.
