Job summary

CCBC is seeking creative adjunct ESOL instructors to join our academic ESOL program that prepares students for future studies. We offer four levels of ESOL courses Monday through Friday with morning, afternoon, and evening options and plan to expand to Saturday classes.

Adjunct instructors may teach up to 9 credits and courses may be offered on Essex, Catonsville, Owings Mills, and Dundalk campuses. Our program uses a theme-based integrated skills approach with some courses taught through OERs.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree required in TESOL, Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience teaching multilingual adult students in an adult basic education program, intensive language program, or accredited language school.
  • Experience teaching ESOL in a community college or university preferred.
  • Strong instructional technology and learning management (LMS) skills; Brightspace preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach ESOL courses to multilingual adult students.
  • Possibly teach up to 9 credits as an adjunct instructor.
  • Deliver courses across morning, afternoon, and evening; multiple modalities (on-site, blended, online, remote synchronous).

Pay Level: 1,085.00 per credit hour

Minimum Requirements
  • Master's Degree in TESOL, Linguistics, Applied Linguistics or arelated field.

  • Experience teaching a ESOL program in a community college oruniversity preferred
  • Applicants need to possess strong instructional technology andlearning management (LMS) skills
  • Use of Brightspace is preferred.

The Roth403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors:TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, PartTime Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save forretirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees maycontribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b)post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combinedfor the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
  • Deferred Compensation Plan — 457(b) offered through VOYAFinancial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorizationform is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/HumanResources Forms.

Parking
