Job summary

CCBC is the college providing part-time adjunct instruction in math, reading, and writing for Essential Skills and GED preparation. Classes cover algebra and geometry, with ongoing assessment and data collection for grant reporting.

Faculty attend meetings and professional development workshops each semester; stipends are paid for attendance. Salary is commensurate with experience and campus locations include Catonsville, Dundalk, Owings Mills, and Essex.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree, experience and/or training teaching adult students, knowledge of adult learning theory and best practices, and demonstrated ability to teach a computer-assisted curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in math, reading, and writing skills to students enrolled in Essential Skills classes.
  • GED classes provide instruction to students preparing to take the GED exam, including algebra and geometry.
  • Preparation, instruction, testing, and record-keeping/data collection for grant reporting are required.
  • Attendance at meetings and professional development workshops held each semester is required (stipends are paid for attendance).

Provide instruction in math, reading, and writing skills tostudents enrolled in Essential Skills (4th -9th grade level)classes. GED classes provides instruction to students preparing totake the GED exam. Instruction includes (but is not limited to)higher level reading, writing, test preparation and math skills toinclude algebra and geometry to students. Preparation, instruction,testing, and record-keeping/data collection for grant reporting arerequired. Attendance at meetings and professional developmentworkshops held each semester is required (stipends are paid forattendance).

Salary commensurate with experience.

Adjunct Faculty, PartTime Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save forretirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees maycontribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b)post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combinedfor the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
