Apple Montessori Schools in Cliffside Park, NJ is seeking a Teacher Assistant Toddler to support Lead Teachers in a Montessori environment. You’ll help children explore, grow, and build independence with warmth and guidance.

The role requires patience, strong communication, and a love of children. You’ll assist with lesson plans, classroom safety, and family updates, while participating in meetings and professional development.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Demonstrated love of children and ability to engage with young learners.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to follow health and safety guidelines and classroom procedures.
• Capacity to multi-task in a dynamic early childhood setting.

Teacher Assistant Toddler

Location: Cliffside Park, NJ

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 1:00pm OR 1:00pm to 6:30pm

As a Teacher Assistant at Apple Montessori Schools, you’ll have the opportunity to turn your passion for working with children into a meaningful career in Early Childhood Education. You will work closely with Lead Teachers to support children as they explore, grow, and build independence in a nurturing Montessori environment. Our Teacher Assistants provide warmth, encouragement, and guidance as children try new experiences, form friendships, and develop confidence and curiosity.

As a member of our teaching team, some of your responsibilities will include:

• Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment for all students
• Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to support and implement lesson plans
• Maintain accurate student records and assist with family communication
• Encourage positive self-image while supporting individuality, independence, and creativity
• Model appropriate social behavior and actively engage with students
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, trainings, and mentorship programs
