Job summary

Apple Montessori Schools in Mahwah, NJ is seeking a part-time Teacher Assistant for Infant, Toddler, and Preschool groups. Shifts run from 8:00am–1:00pm, 1:00pm–6:30pm, and 3:00pm–6:30pm, Monday through Friday.

You will assist Lead Teachers, help create a nurturing Montessori environment, and support children's growth and independence. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid or willingness to obtain, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required and CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull to assist children.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment for all students.
• Collaborate with Lead Teacher to support and implement lesson plans.
• Maintain accurate student records and assist with family communication.
• Encourage positive self-image while supporting individuality, independence, and creativity.
• Model appropriate social behavior and actively engage with students.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, trainings, and mentorship programs.

Location: Mahwah, NJ

Hours: Monday to Friday, Various Shifts Available!

8:00am - 1:00pm

1:00pm - 6:30 pm

3:00pm - 6:30pm

As a Teacher Assistant at Apple Montessori Schools, you'll have the opportunity to turn your passion for working with children into a meaningful career in Early Childhood Education. You will work closely with Lead Teachers to support children as they explore, grow, and build independence in a nurturing Montessori environment. Our Teacher Assistants provide warmth, encouragement, and guidance as children try new experiences, form friendships, and develop confidence and curiosity.

As a member of our teaching team, some of your responsibilities will include:

Requirements
