Texas Department Of Criminal Justice seeks an Inventory and Store Specialist III - Assistant Commissary Manager to oversee unit commissary operations. • Job Duties:Performs highly complex inventory and retail sales work in a unit commissary. Work involves stocking, arranging, and transferring inventory; displaying and selling merchandise; ensuring compliance with established security requirements, loss prevention controls, and procedures; and providing guidance to others. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgmentYou'd be a GOOD fit if:You have experience managing inventory, receiving, and selling products.You can maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile discrepancies.You have the ability to learn commissary operations, policies, procedures, and security requirements.You are organized, dependable, and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a correctional environment.You communicate effectively with staff, vendors, and incarcerated individuals.You can use inventory, financial, and computer systems to track transactions and maintain accurate records.You have the ability to follow established procedures for receiving, selling, delivering and overall accounting for inventory.You'd be a GREAT fit if:You have strong inventory management or commissary operations experience.You consistently identify and resolve inventory discrepancies before they become larger issues.You understand the importance of accuracy, accountability, security, and customer service in a unit commissary.You can independently manage daily operations while ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.You demonstrate strong problem-solving, organization, and leadership skills.You can work effectively in a correctional environment while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.You look for ways to improve processes, reduce errors, increase efficiency, and provide reliable commissary services.
