Job summary

BDO USA, LLP is seeking a Tax Managing Director to apply industry knowledge to advise clients on tax implications, evaluate actions to reduce tax burdens, and lead complex tax decisions. The role also serves as the primary client contact for intricate tax issues and contributes to leadership and business development within the tax practice.

The position emphasizes supervision of associates and engagement teams, adherence to policy standards, and engaging with federal/state agencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics required.
• Master's in Accountancy or Taxation preferred.
• CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or EA required.
• Ten (10) or more years of relevant tax experience required.
• Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee tax compliance for clients, minimizing burdens and ensuring policy adherence.
• Direct research and issue framing for engagements; report analyses clearly.
• Manage ASC 740 (FAS 109 and FIN 48) tax accruals and related provisions.
• Provide tax consulting to maximize client benefits and reduce taxes.
• Develop in-depth taxation knowledge across multiple specialities and advise clients.
• Lead strategy development to improve client positions and firm outcomes.
• Other duties as required; supervise and mentor associates and managers.
