Job summary

H&R Block is hiring a Tax Associate in Texas for an apprenticeship-style start in tax and client service. You’ll review each client's tax situation with coaching and use advanced technology to prepare returns.

You’ll partner with a Client Care Specialist to gather information, ask open questions, and identify tax savings opportunities, building trust and delivering a great client experience.

Qualifications

• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain information clearly.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to organize information.
• Comfort using digital tools and AI-based tools such as Copilot and ChatGPT.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Partner with a Client Care Specialist who gathers client information, allowing you to focus on reviewing each client's tax situation and delivering a great experience.
• Leverage technology to prepare returns while you review results for accuracy and provide personalized advice.
• Use open-ended questions and active listening to understand client needs and identify tax savings opportunities.
• Recommend relevant products and services based on client needs and situations.
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions with guidance.
• Continue building tax knowledge through ongoing training to grow confidence and service quality.
• Build strong client relationships and support office goals through teamwork and a client-first approach.
