H&R Block is seeking a year-round Block Advisor to prepare complete and accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses, interviewing clients to understand their financial situations and tax implications. You will deliver personalized recommendations and build year-round relationships with clients.

The role emphasizes empathetic, consultative service, uncovering tax savings opportunities, and guiding clients through IRS notices and audit considerations.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Strong ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language.
• Experience preparing complex individual and business returns; tax planning and notice resolution.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Must meet IRS/state continuing education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications, then provide recommendations.
• Build year-round client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
