The Williamsburg Winery is seeking a full-time Tasting Room Associate in Williamsburg, VA, to deliver memorable guest experiences. You will lead tastings, educate guests about our wines and history, and actively promote Wine Club memberships.

The role emphasizes customer service, sales, and building lasting guest relationships in a busy hospitality setting with weekend and holiday shifts. Training will be provided for wine knowledge.

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality, customer service, retail, or sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable service to every guest.
• Lead guided wine tastings and winery tours.
• Educate guests about wine profiles, pairings, and Williamsburg Winery history.
• Actively promote the Williamsburg Winery Wine Club and enroll new members.
• Clearly explain Wine Club tiers, benefits, and member experiences.
• Build guest relationships that encourage repeat visits and long‑term membership.
• Prepare and serve wine flights according to service standards.
• Assist guests with wine purchases, memberships, and general questions.
• Operate the POS system accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of tasting, bar, and retail areas.
• Restock wine, merchandise, and supplies as needed.
• Complete opening and closing responsibilities.
• Support special events, private tastings, and group experiences.
• Follow responsible alcohol-service requirements and all applicable laws

The Williamsburg Winery is hiring a full-time Tasting Room Associate to deliver memorable and engaging experiences for our guests. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hospitality, wine, sales, and building lasting relationships with customers.

Tasting Room Associates lead guided tastings, educate guests about our wines and history, and help grow our Wine Club. Promoting and enrolling new Wine Club members is a major focus of this position, so candidates should be comfortable explaining membership benefits, making recommendations, and actively encouraging guests to join.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality, customer service, retail, or sales experience preferred
• Friendly, outgoing, and confident when speaking with guests
• Comfortable recommending products and asking guests to join the Wine Club
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Interest in wine; previous wine knowledge is a plus, but training will be provided
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Dependable, organized, and attentive to detail
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts

Compensation

• $5.00 per hour plus tips
