Beach Bum Tanning & Airbrush Salon in New York is seeking Tanning Consultants to guide clients through tanning options and ensure an informed, comfortable experience. You will welcome guests, assess skin types, recommend equipment and products, and support sales while keeping rooms clean and records up to date.

We offer both full-time and part-time roles with opportunities for advancement, bonuses, and a fun, energetic team environment. Evening and weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 18 years old.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in customer service or sales preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome clients and create a warm, inviting atmosphere from arrival.
• Evaluate skin types and recommend tanning equipment, products, and safety guidelines.
• Explain the tanning process clearly, answer questions, and ensure client comfort.
• Keep tanning rooms and common areas clean, organized, and stocked.
• Recommend and sell lotions and retail products based on client needs.
• Meet or exceed sales goals while delivering excellent customer service.
• Build strong client relationships and encourage repeat visits.
• Maintain accurate client records including preferences and tanning history.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcoming clients and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere from the moment they arrive
• Evaluating skin types and recommending the most suitable tanning equipment, products, and safety guidelines
• Explaining the tanning process clearly, answering questions, and ensuring clients feel comfortable and informed
• Keeping tanning rooms and common areas clean, organized, and fully stocked

• Consistently meeting or surpassing sales goals while maintaining excellent customer service
• Building strong client relationships and encouraging repeat visits

• Opening and closing the salon according to company standards

Qualifications

• Positive, outgoing, and passionate about the tanning and beauty industry
• High school graduates (or equivalent)
• At least 18 years old
• Strong communicators, both verbally and in writing
• Experienced in customer service or sales (preferred)
• Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Comfortable standing, bending, and being on their feet for extended periods
