Job summary

Beach Bum Tanning & Airbrush Salon in West Caldwell, NJ, is seeking Tanning Consultants to guide clients through tanning options, maintain a welcoming environment, and drive sales. The role supports brand experience and long-term growth within the organization.

Candidates should have strong communication skills, be at least 18, and can work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available, with a focus on customer service and retail performance.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming clients and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere
• Evaluating skin types and recommending tanning equipment, products, and safety guidelines
• Explaining the tanning process clearly, answering questions, and ensuring clients feel informed
• Keeping tanning rooms and common areas clean, organized, and stocked
• Recommending and selling lotions and retail products based on client needs
• Meeting or surpassing sales goals while maintaining customer service
• Building client relationships and encouraging repeat visits
• Maintaining accurate client records including preferences and tanning history
• Opening and closing the salon according to company standards

Key ResponsibilitiesYour daily responsibilities may include:

• Explaining the tanning process clearly, answering questions, and ensuring clients feel comfortable and informed
• Keeping tanning rooms and common areas clean, organized, and fully stocked
• Recommending and selling lotions and retail products based on client needs
• Consistently meeting or surpassing sales goals while maintaining excellent customer service
• Building strong client relationships and encouraging repeat visits
• Maintaining accurate client records, including preferences and tanning history

QualificationsWe’re looking for candidates who are:

• Positive, outgoing, and passionate about the tanning and beauty industry
• High school graduates (or equivalent)
• At least 18 years old
• Strong communicators, both verbally and in writing
• Experienced in customer service or sales (preferred)
• Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Comfortable standing, bending, and being on their feet for extended periods
