Job summary

Beach Bum Tanning & Airbrush Salon is seeking a friendly Tanning Consultant to guide clients through tanning options and help them achieve their ideal glow. You will welcome guests, assess skin type, explain processes, and upsell lotions and retail products while delivering outstanding service.

This position offers a fast-paced, customer-focused environment with opportunities for advancement, commissions, and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of sales or customer service experience preferred.
• Positive, outgoing personality with strong communication skills.
• Able to stand for long periods and be on your feet.
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Welcome clients and create a warm, inviting atmosphere.
• Evaluate skin types and recommend tanning options and safety guidelines.
• Explain tanning processes clearly and answer questions.
• Keep rooms and common areas clean and stocked.
• Sell lotions and retail products based on client needs.
• Meet or exceed sales goals while delivering excellent service.
• Build relationships to encourage repeat visits.
• Maintain accurate client records.
• Open and close the salon according to company standards.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily responsibilities may include:

• Welcoming clients and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere from the moment they arrive
• Evaluating skin types and recommending the most suitable tanning equipment, products, and safety guidelines
• Explaining the tanning process clearly, answering questions, and ensuring clients feel comfortable and informed
• Keeping tanning rooms and common areas clean, organized, and fully stocked
• Recommending and selling lotions and retail products based on client needs
• Consistently meeting or surpassing sales goals while maintaining excellent customer service
• Building strong client relationships and encouraging repeat visits
• Maintaining accurate client records, including preferences and tanning history
• Opening and closing the salon according to company standards

Qualifications

We’re looking for candidates who are:

• Positive, outgoing, and passionate about the tanning and beauty industry
• High school graduates (or equivalent)
• At least 18 years old
• Strong communicators, both verbally and in writing
• Experienced in customer service or sales (preferred)
• Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Comfortable standing, bending, and being on their feet for extended periods

Experience
