Depot Connect International (DCI) in Bakersfield, CA is hiring a DOT inspection certified Truck & Trailer Mechanic. The role requires 2-5+ years of experience, with shifts Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM. Pay ranges from $27.00 to $41.00 per hour, with potential increases based on skill reviews.

Responsibilities include diagnosing failures on tank trailers, tank service, suspension work, air brake systems, and optional TIG welding. Must meet DOT HM183 standards and pass physical requirements.

Qualifications

• Diagnose failures and repair mechanical, electrical or other systems on a tank trailer.
• Perform tank service and repair tasks.
• Install/repair trailer suspension components.
• Work with air brake systems and related repairs.
• TIG welding for aluminum, stainless or carbon if needed.
• Ensure tanks/trailers meet DOT HM183 standards.

We are currently searching for DOT inspection certified mechanic with 2-5+ years of experience. This is for our Bakersfield, CA location!

Shift Hours

Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Pay Range

$27.00 to $41.00 per hour, dependent on experience.

Skill-based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.

Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas

• The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer.
• Tank service and repair
• Trailer suspension installation and repair
• Experience with air brake systems and repairs
• TIG aluminum, stainless or carbon welding experience (optional)
• Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)

Physical Demands

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to fit through a tank trailer manhole
• Must be able to work in confined spaces
