Job summary

Depot Connect International (DCI) currently seeks a skilled Trailer Mechanic for our Geismar, LA location to diagnose and repair tank trailers, including tank service, suspensions, and air brake systems. TIG welding is a plus, with HM183/hazmat inspection knowledge preferred.

Shift from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, pay $15–$35 per hour depending on experience. DCI offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities, with potential skill-based pay reviews every six months, and a chance

Qualifications

• Diagnose failures and repair mechanical or electrical systems on tank trailers.
• Tank service and repair on trailers.
• Install and repair trailer suspensions.
• Work with air brake systems and repairs.
• TIG welding on aluminum, stainless steel or carbon (optional).
• Inspect tanks and trailers to DOT HM183/hazmat standards (highly preferred).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose failures and perform repairs on tank trailers.
• Conduct tank service and repair tasks.
• Install and repair trailer suspensions.
• Work with air brake systems and repairs.
• Welding on TIG as needed (optional).
• Ensure DOT HM183/hazmat compliance inspections.

Trailer Mechanic

We are currently searching for mechanics with tank trailer repair experience at our Geismar, LA location! HM-183 Registered Inspectors is highly preferred.

Shift Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Pay Range: $15.00 to $35.00 per hour, dependent on experience.

Skill-based pay rate reviews and potential increases every 6 months.

Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas:

• The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a tank trailer.
• Tank service and repair
• Trailer suspension installation and repair
• Experience with air brake systems and repairs
• TIG aluminum, stainless or carbon welding experience (optional)
• Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)- Highly preferred

Physical Demands:

• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to fit through a tank trailer manhole
• Must be able to work in confined spaces
