Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to implement plans of care under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. You will treat patients of all ages in a dynamic clinical setting and serve as a resource for staff and students.

Responsibilities include educating patients and families, documenting accurately, and performing therapeutic interventions such as exercise, gait training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required in Physical Therapy Assisting.
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in good standing; BLS certification within 30 days.
• Board eligible/required to complete board exam and continuing education for acute stroke care.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students and staff using effective teaching methods.
• Follows and adjusts the plan of care in consultation with the PT and documents daily communications.
• Produces documentation per CTSCP67 policy and maintains accurate records.
• Completes annual education to satisfy DNV Hip and Knee program requirements when applicable.
• Follows the PT plan of care and supports treatment interventions as prescribed.
• Delivers therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, and ultrasound as prescribed.
• Administers electrical stimulation and aquatic therapy when indicated.
• Documents daily in therapy EMR and handles charging appropriately.
• Coordinates with PT on patient interventions and progress notes.
• Communicates progress and recommendations with referring providers.
