Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to support patient care across all ages. You will educate patients and families, follow the therapist's plan of care, and adjust treatments based on patient progress. You will document in the EMR and participate in continuing education.

The role includes admin of therapeutic exercise, gait/balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy, with cooperation from the PT and referring providers. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) required.
• Licensed PTA in good standing or eligible to obtain licensure.
• BLS within 30 days of hire.
• Board eligible; must complete board exam when scheduled and annual CE.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, families, caregivers, students, and staff using effective methods.
• Follows the plan of care; adjusts treatment based on patient response and documented communication.
• Produces documentation per CTSCP67 policy.
• Completes annual education for DNV Hip/Knee program if applicable.
• Administers therapy including therapeutic exercise, gait/balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, aquatic therapy.
• Documents daily, charges in EMR, and coordinates with PT on treatment interventions.
• Communicates progress and recommendations to referring providers.
