Job summary

Calhoun Construction Services is seeking a Recruiting/HR team member to support full-cycle recruitment. The role emphasizes candidate sourcing, screening, and coordinating interviews, with a focus on building a strong pipeline and ensuring a smooth onboarding process.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and at least two years of in-house recruiting experience, plus strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Senior Recruiter to develop sourcing strategies and build a pipeline of qualified candidates.
• Screen resumes, schedule interviews, maintain candidate data, and assist the Senior Recruiter and HR Manager in the hiring process.
• Develop a thorough understanding of job positions and required qualifications.
• Conduct initial screening interviews via phone or Microsoft Teams and present candidates to hiring managers for second interviews.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment process, ensuring timely communication.
• Conduct cold calls to identify ideal local candidates from competitors and relocation prospects to Louisville or Lexington.
• Assist in identifying effective recruiting methods tailored to roles, industry standards, and Calhoun’s needs.
• Partner with HR to ensure a smooth transition from offer acceptance through onboarding.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• May attend college career fairs as needed.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Senior Recruiter to develop innovative sourcing strategies to build a pipeline of qualified candidates
• Support the recruiting function by screening resumes, scheduling interviews, maintaining candidate profile data and assisting the Senior Recruiter and HR Manager as needed to complete the hiring process
• Develop a thorough understanding of company positions and the qualifications required for success in those positions
• Conduct initial screening interviews via phone or Microsoft Teams and compile candidates to present to hiring managers for secondary interviews
• Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment process, ensuring timely and professional communication
• Conduct cold calls to identify ideal local candidates from competitors, as well as people interested in relocation to Louisville or Lexington
• Assist the team in identifying effective recruiting methods and strategies tailored to specific roles, industry standards, and the needs of Calhoun
• Partner with HR to ensure a smooth transition from offer acceptance through the onboarding process
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
• May attend college career fairs as needed
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Recruiting or related field
• Two years or more of in-house recruiting experience required
• Strong understanding of full-cycle recruiting best practices and applicable employment laws.
• Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruiting platforms
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build credibility with hiring managers and candidates
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple searches and priorities simultaneously
• Proactive problem-solver who can adapt to evolving hiring needs and timelines
• High level of discretion with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately
• Proactive self-starter with the ability to identify opportunities to add value and support evolving business needs
• Demonstrated negotiation skills, including the ability to align candidate expectations with company needs
• Proven ability and comfort in effectively sourcing passive candidates
• Ability to work over 40 hours per week as needed, normally Monday through Friday
• Bilingual (Spanish) candidate preferred
