Job summary

Reynolds Community College in Virginia is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead and support the college’s recruitment and onboarding processes. This role ensures a positive candidate experience and provides guidance to college administrators throughout the employment process.

The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and reporting systems, with a focus on equity and compliance across faculty, staff, and wage positions.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of human resources principles and practices, incl. recruitment, selection, classification/compensation, and payroll operations.
• Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations governing HR functions.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures, analyze data, and present findings clearly.
• Proficiency in maintaining and generating reports from automated HR systems and databases.
• Ability to work independently and provide guidance to all levels of college staff.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks with sound judgment.
• Excellent oral and written communication and ability to explain complex HR information.
• Competency using Microsoft Word, Excel and other HRIS/tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes for all employee classifications.
• Advise hiring managers on recruitment strategies and compliance with regulations and policies.
• Maintain recruitment records and documentation per federal, state, and VCCS requirements.
• Support continuous improvement in hiring practices and onboarding to promote equity and efficiency.
