Job summary

Michael & Son Services Inc is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team in the DC Metro region. You will proactively source candidates, conduct screening calls, coordinate interviews, and manage candidate assessments to build a strong talent pipeline.

You will partner with hiring managers, engage with local trade schools and universities, travel up to 15% within the DC Metro, Baltimore, and Southern Virginia, and oversee offers and onboarding in collaboration with HR.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of talent acquisition or recruiting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), HRIS software, and Microsoft Office.
• Solid understanding of recruitment techniques and processes.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% within the region.

Responsibilities

• Candidate Sourcing: Proactively identify and engage qualified candidates through a variety of search methods to build a strong talent pipeline.
• Selection and Hiring: Conduct screening calls, coordinate interview schedules, and lead candidate assessments.
• Relationship Management: Partner with internal managers to understand hiring needs, collaborate with local trade schools and universities to attract talent, build strong community partnerships, and maintain active pipelines
• Recruitment Outreach: Represent the company at career fairs, networking events, and recruitment functions (up to 15% local travel across the DC Metro area, Baltimore, and Southern Virginia).
• Offers and Onboarding: Extend job offers, negotiate terms, and partner with the HR team to deliver a smooth new-hire experience.
• Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure all recruiting practices align with employment laws while staying up to date on industry hiring trends.
