Job summary

Doswell Operating Group is seeking a driven Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead end-to-end recruiting for EMC Mechanical Services, covering field, service, and office roles in the Richmond area. You will partner with hiring managers, source top candidates, and drive the hiring process from screening to onboarding.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of TA experience in construction or skilled trades, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and strong ATS and social media recruiting skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of talent acquisition experience, with a focus on construction, skilled trades, or related industries.
• Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business Management, Psychology or related field.
• Deep knowledge of trade roles (HVAC, plumbing, piping, etc.) and construction hiring.
• Experience using ATS, sourcing tools, and social media platforms.
• Ability to network proactively within the Greater Richmond area.

Responsibilities

• Full cycle recruiting for field, service, and office roles; partner with hiring managers to define role requirements and timelines.
• Source candidates using job boards, ATS, referrals, social media, and industry channels; build pipelines for high-volume roles.
• Promote the company culture and careers; ensure a positive candidate experience.
• Maintain accurate candidate records in the ATS and identify workflow improvements.

Salary Range: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00

We are seeking a driven and experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist with a proven track record in the construction and skilled trades industries to lead the recruiting efforts for one of our business units. This role will focus on the full-cycle recruiting for EMC Mechanical Services, our mechanical contracting company, and recruit for positions including service technicians, project-based roles, and select corporate positions. In this role, you will partner closely with hiring managers to source, attract, and hire the best talent in the industry. The ideal candidate will assist with recruiting strategy and offer unique ideas for attracting qualified talent.

What You’ll Do:

Full Cycle Recruiting

• Manage the end-to-end recruiting process for field, service, and office roles.
• Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, timelines, and hiring priorities.
• Conduct phone screens, interviews, and coordinate hiring decisions.

Sourcing & Talent Pipeline Development

• Proactively source candidates using job boards, ATS, referrals, social media, and industry-specific channels.
• Build and maintain pipelines for high-volume and hard-to-fill skilled trade positions.
• Attend career fairs, trade school events, and community recruiting initiatives as needed.

Employer Branding & Candidate Experience

• Promote the company’s culture, values, and career opportunities to prospective candidates.
• Ensure a positive, professional, and timely candidate experience.

Data & Process Improvement

• Maintain accurate candidate records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
• Identify opportunities to improve recruiting workflows and hiring efficiency.

Onboarding Support

• Assist with offer letters, pre-employment screenings, and onboarding coordination.
• Partner with HR and operations teams to ensure smooth new-hire transitions.

What You’ll Bring:

• 3+ years of talent acquisition experience with a focus on construction, skilled trades, or related industries.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management, Psychology, or a related field is required.
• Deep knowledge of trade roles (HVAC, plumbing, piping, sheet metal, etc.) and the construction hiring landscape is preferred.
• Prior experience working within an Applicant Tracking System (ATS), sourcing tools, and social media platforms.
• Ability to proactively network within the construction industry in Greater Richmond area.
• High technical acumen with regards to computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.), and a willingness to learn new systems as required.
• Comfortable working in fast paced environment where priorities can shift quickly, all while maintaining a sense of urgency.
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal), attention to detail, organizational skills, and a desire to go above and beyond for our team.

Driving Requirements

• Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.
• Must have positive points on state driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
• Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.
• All driving records are run as part of our pre-employment process and reviewed at the discretion of the Safety Team.
