Job summary

Doswell Operating Group's RVA Property Managers is seeking a Construction Technician in Richmond, VA. You’ll perform maintenance, painting, drywall, carpentry, electrical and plumbing tasks across multiple properties, with safety and quality focus.

You’ll work hands-on, learn from a skilled team, and have opportunities to grow within the maintenance department as the company expands.

Qualifications

• Experience in painting, drywall, carpentry, electrical and/or plumbing preferred.
• Comfort working at heights and using ladders or lifts.
• Willingness to be trained on equipment operation as needed (e.g., Boom Lift).

Responsibilities

• Perform general building and property maintenance, service, and repair across multiple properties.
• Conduct maintenance tasks such as painting, caulking, drywall, basic electrical and plumbing work.

The Construction Technician will be a knowledgeable and skilled technician capable of performing a variety of tasks across our organization. What You’ll Do

• Perform a variety of general building and property maintenance, service, and repair services supporting multiple company owned properties.
• Perform a variety of maintenance services to include, but not limited to: painting, caulking, wall repair, minor plumbing work, basic electrical maintenance (replacing a ballast, replacing light fixtures, etc.), framing, sheetrock work, pressure washing, and more.
• Troubleshoot to identify potential root causes and develop effective solutions.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

• Previous painting, drywall, rough or trim carpentry/home building, framing, electrical, and/or plumbing experience is preferred.
• Must be comfortable performing duties from an elevated height on a ladder, lift, or roof top.
• Possess a strong understanding of the safe usage of hand and power tools.
• Able and willing to be trained on the proper and safe operation of equipment as needed (e.g., Boom Lift).
• Fluent English-speaking and writing skills are required.

Driving Requirements

• Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.
• Must have positive points on state driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
• Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.
• All driving records are run as part of our pre-employment process and reviewed at the discretion of the Safety Team.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
