The Talent Acquisition Manager at Hometown Veterinary Partners is a member of our talent team and reports directly to the Director of People & Culture. The TA Manager will create, develop, and execute recruitment strategies to support our current and future growth, aligning with our values of culture, community, and collaboration. This leader must stay informed of employment trends, benchmarks, and develop both short and long-term recruitment strategies to enhance the HVP brand. The Veterinary Recruiter will be responsible for attracting, sourcing, and hiring talented veterinarians and veterinary staff, collaborating with Hospital Leadership to understand staffing needs, and ensuring a seamless hiring process. Applicants should be located within a commutable distance to Bloomington, MN, or the greater Boston, MA area.

  • Build a recruitment strategy supporting productive relationships in the veterinary community.
  • Create a feedback loop with new hires, including 30-60-90 day check-ins, to gain insights on our culture.
  • Develop retention strategies to proactively address concerns and support career growth.
  • Attend industry conferences, career fairs, and networking events to promote HVP and attract candidates.

Community

  • Demonstrate strong leadership and managerial skills for overseeing HR platforms and team members.
  • Travel for recruitment at conferences, college visits, and career fairs.
  • Coordinate and present at college recruiting initiatives and increase awareness of HVP.
  • Build networks within communities to find qualified and passive candidates.
  • Post open positions internally and externally.
  • Proactively develop a network of qualified candidates for current and future needs.
  • Maintain active presence on social media platforms: Indeed, LinkedIn, Facebook, and job boards.
  • Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruitment.

Collaboration

  • Source potential candidates through various channels including job boards, social media, networking events, and professional associations.
  • Support hiring needs by reviewing qualifications, interviewing applicants, verifying references, conducting background checks, and scheduling interviews.
  • Prepare Offer of Employment, send New Hire packets, and conduct pre-employment screening.
  • Verify documentation, coordinate onboarding and training, and ensure a seamless experience.
  • Compile and send weekly KPI and New Hire reports to leadership.
  • Benchmark pay scales and benefits regionally, providing recommendations to stay competitive.
  • Provide insights and solutions to improve recruiting strategies and onboarding processes.
  • Verify state licensures and certifications are current and compliant.
  • Ensure all New Hire paperwork is entered into HRIS and stored securely.
  • Maintain compliance with employment regulations.

Education, Experience & Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years recruiting experience, preferably in veterinary or healthcare industry
  • Strong understanding of veterinary profession and skills required
  • Experience with ATS and data analytics
