Job summary

Jobtailor in Dayton, OH, seeks a capital project and portfolio management professional to lead long‑term maintenance and investment planning within the capital budget. You will develop scopes, cost estimates, and schedules, engaging engineering and subject matter experts to build robust business cases for capital investments.

Qualifications

  • Four year college degree in engineering, construction management, finance, or related field.
  • Applicable experience in place of a degree will be considered.
  • 0-5 years in capital project and/or portfolio management
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365 tools
  • Demonstrated project management experience leading projects through development, including scope, estimate, and schedule documents
  • General understanding of the regulated T&D utility business, assets, and systems
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results and operate with minimal supervision
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • English language
  • Professional Engineering License or Project Management Professional Certification are a plus
  • Experience with SAP and Copperleaf C55 is a plus
  • Experience with Smart Grid, DER integration, and other industry trends is a plus
  • Experience presenting to upper management is a plus
  • Spanish is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop long-term maintenance and investment project plans for inclusion in the capital budget
  • Develop project scopes, cost estimates, and schedules under general supervision

  • Provide bid specifications to Supply Chain according to the procurement process
  • Compile detailed work plans for Project Management Organization, Engineering, and Operations teams
  • Use Management of Change and Asset Governance processes to control equipment, systems, and process modifications
  • Serve as a company representative as assigned
  • Work on capital investments including asset replacements, maintenance, customer growth, Smart Grid, renewable energy integration, and general operations
