Project Engineer II

Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior project manager to lead capital expenditure programs from initiation through closeout in our industrial operations in Alabama. You will develop plans, budgets, and schedules, coordinating with engineering, procurement, and finance to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires strong leadership, experience with SAP PS and EcoSys, and a track record of process improvements using Lean or Six Sigma.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in project management within an industrial type of environment
• 2+ years of experience working with capital expenditure processes and project management methodologies
• 3+ years of experience working in project management tools and software, with a focus on delivering projects on time and within budget
• 1+ year of experience leading cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder expectations
• 1+ year analyzing project performance and implementing corrective actions as necessary
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field
• Experience in process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
• Proficiency in project management tools and software

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage capital expenditure projects from initiation to completion
• Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and monitor progress
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements and best practices
• Manage capital projects across planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout
• Provide project evaluation and economic analysis with business finance and the site controller
• Lead the effort toward an approved Appropriation Request (AR)
• Collaborate with stakeholders and contractors to meet project objectives
• Monitor progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies
• Forecast and manage capital expenditures monthly
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental requirements
• Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders and senior management
• Report directly to the Senior Engineering Manager
