Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Cyber Mission unit in Annapolis Junction, MD. The role uses Agile/DevOps to deliver high-quality software to mission customers from a contractor facility with flexible work schedules.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph is required.
• IAT Level 1 or higher required.
• Bachelor's degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
• Fourteen (14) years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required.
• The ability to implement comprehensive Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions.
• The ability to conduct and/or approve end-to-end system trade analyses to optimize system operations over its life cycle through the proper balance of non-functional system performance areas.
• The ability to ensure effective, periodic review and control of the evolving configuration of a system, both hardware and software components and associated documentation, during the life of the system.
• The ability to develop system design alternatives that consider life cycle cost, reuse, complexity, risk, system expansion, and growth.
• The ability to maintain knowledge of current and evolving agency, national, and international standards applicable to the system development of interest.
• The ability to recommend a preferred solution based on selection criteria.
• The ability to provide technical direction for the full systems engineering life cycle.
• The ability to fully define interfaces in terms of origination, destination, stimulus, and data characteristics for software.]

Responsibilities

• Analyze user needs, draft concept of operations documents, and use high level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
• Participate in design and development activities, guide users in formulating requirements, advise on alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.
• Plan and conduct system verification activities.
• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems; manage IT infrastructure and processes.
• Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems and install/load OS software; troubleshoot and maintain systems; improve reliability and performance.
