Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Systems Engineer MID - MECM to join our on-site team. You will collaborate with development and operations to ensure reliable deployments, monitor infrastructure, and improve platform reliability using SRE/DevOps practices.

Responsibilities include automating pipelines, enhancing monitoring with Splunk, and testing for performance and failure recovery. A BS or MS with extensive MECM experience and DoD eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• BS degree with 5–10 years of relevant experience or a Masters with 4–8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining MECM environments at an enterprise scale.
• Automation using PowerShell, APIs, and infrastructure-as-code tooling.
• Strong Windows endpoint management, patching strategies and baselines.
• Experience integrating MECM with Intune/Azure AD and Windows Update for Business.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure).

Systems Engineer MID - MECM

Location: Norfolk, Virginia (Onsite)

Role Overview

This position requires a Systems Engineer to work alongside development and operations teams to ensure reliable software deployments, monitor systems, and enhance the overall reliability of the platform. The role involves developing features, automating processes, and improving engineering, maintenance, and reliability with SRE/DevOps tools and Infrastructure-as-Code. The ideal candidate will be motivated to identify and resolve system bugs independently.

Required Qualifications

Education: Requires a BS degree with 5-10 years of prior relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 4-8 years of prior relevant experience.

Experience:

• Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) environments at an enterprise scale.
• Hands-on experience creating and managing MECM device collections, task sequences, applications, and operating system deployment images.
• Expertise in automating MECM administrative tasks using PowerShell, APIs, and infrastructure-as-code tooling.
• Strong background in Windows endpoint management, including patching strategies and compliance baselines.
• Experience integrating MECM with cloud-based services such as Intune, Azure AD, and Windows Update for Business.
• Experience supporting enterprise-wide operating system deployments using MECM automation pipelines.
• Knowledge of SQL Server administration relevant to maintaining MECM databases.
• Experience with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) and creating JIRA and/or Azure DevOps workflows.
• Experience with commercial cloud infrastructure deployment environments such as AWS and Azure.

Technical Skills:

• Minimum of DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification is required prior to onboarding and must be maintained.
• Experience with automated script design, coding, and debugging using bash or python.
• Experience administrating/maintaining SRE platforms via Ansible playbooks.
• Experience with automated provisioning and configuration tools like Terraform, Cloud Formation, Chef, Puppet, or Ansible.
• Working knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DISA STIGs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous work experience providing support to the NGEN-NMCI program.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• ITILv4, Scrum Master, or Agile SAFe certification(s) or applicable experience.

Additional Information

Candidates must be US citizens. This position requires local travel to support program execution in secure environments.
