Job summary

Courser is seeking a Systems Engineer I to support and manage IT infrastructure for client environments in an MSP setting. You’ll ensure operating systems, networks, and cloud services run securely and reliably while delivering proactive improvements.

Join a fast-paced IT team where you’ll lead technical projects, handle incident response, and collaborate with engineers and account teams to meet client objectives. Travel to customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2-4 years of experience in systems engineering, IT infrastructure, or a related field, with a strong understanding of system architecture and design principles.
• Proficiency in operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and security practices (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and propose effective solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for client systems, incidents, and issues related to hardware, software, networking, and security.
• Lead and implement solutions to ensure high availability and performance.
• Install, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure for client organizations.
• Assist with or lead technical projects, such as server migrations, network upgrades, or cloud integrations.
• Deploy, configure, and manage operating systems, virtualization, and cloud services.
• Monitor servers and network devices; maintain uptime and performance.
• Configure routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other networking equipment.
• Ensure security best practices, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Collaborate with account managers and other engineers to deliver service excellence.
• Travel to customer locations as needed for on-site projects.
