Job summary

Holmes Murphy is hiring a Systems Administrator II to join the IT team in West Des Moines, Iowa. The role focuses on maintaining and supporting the technical infrastructure, hardware, and system software components.

You will troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, manage servers, backups, and Active Directory, and help document procedures. Collaboration with teams and growth opportunities are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience preferred.
• CCNA certification is a plus.
• 2–4 years' experience working with a wide variety of hardware and software systems used by the company.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve system hardware, software and networking issues.
• Configure, optimize and monitor OS software and servers; provide improvement recommendations.
• Manage and coordinate IT support tickets and escalate between tier 2 and tier 3.
• Perform system maintenance tasks: backups, recovery, and file maintenance.
• Administer phones, fax, email, operating systems, applications and Active Directory; create/update end-user documentation.
• Configure, test and deploy software packages; assist with policies and technical documentation.
• Assist with training of new team members; assist with networking changes and equipment replacements.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
