Job summary

Holmes Murphy & Associates in West Des Moines, IA is seeking a Systems Administrator II to join our IT team. You will maintain and support our technical infrastructure, hardware, and system software while collaborating with security and networking colleagues.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of relevant experience, a bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, and CCNA is a plus. We offer a forward-thinking culture with growth opportunities and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience preferred. Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) a plus.
2-4 years’ experience working with a wide variety of hardware and software systems used by the company.

Responsibilities

Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve system hardware, software and networking issues.
Configure, optimize, fine-tune, and monitor operating system software and servers.
Provide recommendations for improvements.
Manage and coordinate tech support tickets and the escalation process between tier 2 and tier 3 support.
Perform system maintenance tasks, such as system back-ups, recovery, and file maintenance.
Manage administration for phone, fax, email, operating systems, applications and active directory.
Create documentation as needed for end-users and update accordingly for procedural purposes.
