Job summary

Holmes Murphy & Associates is seeking an IT Solutions Architect to join the Information Technology team in West Des Moines, IA. You will design enterprise applications and integrations, translate architecture for delivery teams, and influence technical direction across initiatives.

You will collaborate with business partners and IT teams to ensure solutions meet security and architectural standards, while exploring AI-enabled technologies and cloud platforms to enhance the technology landscape.

Qualifications

• Designs enterprise applications and integration solutions.
• Knowledge of architectural patterns, system design principles, and cloud technologies.
• Evaluates technology tradeoffs and communicates recommendations to stakeholders.
• Creates solution architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and roadmaps.
• Facilitates solution design discussions and drives consensus.

Responsibilities

• Architect new applications, services, integrations, and technology solutions aligned with business needs and standards.
• Translate architecture and technical direction for development teams and lead project delivery as an architectural stakeholder.
• Support adoption of technology standards and strategic direction through leadership and governance.
• Research emerging technologies (InsurTech, AI-enabled solutions, cloud platforms) for improvements.
• Collaborate with business partners and IT delivery teams to translate needs into architectures and recommendations.
• Review designs for alignment with security and architecture standards.
• Guide development teams to remove roadblocks and stay informed on upcoming projects.
• Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt and improve maintainability and efficiency.
• Mentor developers on architecture practices and best principles.
