Job summary

Allen County Public Library seeks a Safety & Security Manager to lead safety and security across its 15-location system, based at the Main Library. The role provides system-wide leadership for staff, patrons, contractors, buildings, and grounds.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, with excellent communication, follow-through, and the ability to anticipate problems and ensure tasks are completed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and five years of professional safety/security program experience.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and evaluate library-wide safety and security programs and procedures.
• Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate security staff and supervisors.
• Manage security coverage and address issues across 15 locations.
• Conduct regular site visits to identify safety concerns and ensure follow-up.
• Coordinate testing, maintenance, and repairs of safety systems.
• Ensure evacuation drills and emergency procedures are scheduled and maintained.
• Develop and deliver safety training and presentations.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA and related regulations.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors on safety requirements.
• Maintain records and analyze incidents to identify improvements.
• Develop policies and improvements to strengthen safety across the system.
• Respond professionally to safety concerns and inquiries.
