Job summary

The Metropolitan Library System is seeking a Director of Safety and Security to provide strategic leadership for safety, security, emergency preparedness and risk management. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this role establishes systemwide standards, oversees security resources, and uses incident trends to strengthen safety across the library system.

The position is based at the Ronald J. Norick Downtown Library in Oklahoma City, OK, with a salary of $95,388.80 annually for a 40-hour

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; and 10 years of security/public experience.
• Bachelor's degree; and 5 years of security/public experience.
• 2 years of experience leading safety or security operations, programs, or personnel.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for safety, security, emergency preparedness and risk management across the library system.
• Establish systemwide standards and oversee security resources.
• Monitor incident trends and emerging risks to strengthen safety across the system.
• Collaborate with library leadership to ensure safe, welcoming environments and high public service levels.
