Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne seeks a Safety & Security Manager to lead safety and security across 15 locations. Based at the Main Library, this role provides system-wide leadership for staff, patrons, buildings and grounds.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, with excellent communication, strong follow-through and the ability to anticipate problems and drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, safety, or security with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and evaluate Library-wide safety and security programs.
• Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate security staff and supervisors.
• Manage security coverage and address issues across 15 locations.
• Conduct site visits and inspections for safety concerns and follow-up.
• Coordinate testing, maintenance, and repairs of safety systems.
• Ensure evacuation drills and emergency procedures are regularly scheduled.
• Develop and deliver safety training and presentations.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA and local regulations.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors on safety requirements.
• Maintain records, reports, and analyze incidents for improvements.
• Develop policies and improvements strengthening safety.
• Respond professionally to safety concerns and complaints.
