Job summary

City of San Antonio is seeking a Supervisory Security Administrator to coordinate security activities for assigned staff, including contract guards, at the Central Library in San Antonio, TX. The role requires directing staff, developing procedures, and managing incident responses with a focus on safety and compliance.

Work hours vary, including evenings, overnights, and weekends, with duties spanning administration, scheduling, budgeting, and building security operations in a large library

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three years security or law enforcement experience, including two years supervisory.
• Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License.
• Must be CPR certified or become certified within one year of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Develops operating procedures, policies, and directives.
• Coordinates work assignments.
• Prepares reports and maintains records regarding incidents.
• Investigates and takes appropriate action on resident complaints.
• Performs administrative functions related to counseling, performance evaluations, employee discipline, hiring, training, etc.
• Prepares work schedules and monitors hours worked by assigned staff to prevent unnecessary overtime.
• Prepares budget for the section.
• Opens and secures assigned buildings.
• Responds to building intrusion alarm activations.
• Examines and certifies portable fire extinguishing equipment.
• Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
