Job summary

King William County Library System seeks a Safety Associate to maintain a safe, welcoming environment across all library spaces. The role focuses on customer service, de-escalation, and emergency response, working closely with staff and community partners to support equitable public access.

This is a full-time on-site position (40 hours weekly) with an hourly rate of $20.0. The ideal candidate will have experience in security or public safety, strong communication, and the ability to act calmly

Qualifications

• Experience in security or related field preferred.
• Willingness to work evenings/weekends.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Patrol library facilities to maintain safety.
• Monitor entrances and public spaces.
• Respond to incidents and policy violations.
• Use verbal de-escalation techniques.
• Coordinate with emergency responders when needed.
• Complete incident reports.
