Job summary

RTX's System Safety / Human System Integration (HSI) Department is hiring a System Safety Engineer II for an onsite role in Tucson, AZ. You will apply engineering rigor to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement safety solutions to protect warfighters and hardware.

Responsibilities include executing the safety strategy, integrating HS I features into programs, updating the IMS, engaging leads for guidance, and coordinating across IPTs.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with risk assessment concepts
• Experience with creating technical reports, technical writing and/or creating presentations

Responsibilities

• Execute safety strategy and integrate HS I features per contract.
• Incorporate system safety tasks into the IMS schedule.
• Engage leads for guidance on execution and reviews.
• Support IPT meetings to address safety items.
• Ensure leadership understands hazards and mitigations.
• Meet internal/external commitments.
• Own solutions and collaborate across IPTs for safe development.
